Western Wall
Only surviving part of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem that was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE.
This is another name for the Christian feast of Pentecost. The name derives from the wearing of white by those being baptised or confirmed on this day (White Sunday).

Body formed in 1948 to promote united Christian action in the world and the coming together of diverse Christian traditions.

World's Parliament of Religions
A gathering held in 1893, in Chicago in conjunction with the World Columbian Exposition. This was the first major occasion of formal discussion on a public stage between leading figures from a spectrum of world religions The centennial celebration of this historic event - the 1993 Parliament of the World's Religions - was also held in Chicago, bringing together 8,000 leaders and adherents to discuss the role of religion and spirituality in the world as it entered the next century and millennium. The organization that sponsored the event - the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions (CPWR) - is continuing the spirit and legacy of the Parliament through metropolitan and international initiative.
